SAFETY REMINDERS & GOOD NEIGHBOR SUGGESTIONS
We residents know that Beverly Hills is the best place to live anywhere in Asheville - with its close proximity to amenities, rolling hills overlooking the golf course, nice homes, lovely old trees, and pretty yards with mature landscaping. Let’s make it even better by doing all we can to keep our community SAFE, looking GREAT and our property values UP.
CRIME PREVENTION
Although Beverly Hills enjoys a low crime rate compared to other areas, we have unfortunately been experiencing periodic break-ins. Therefore keep your homes and cars locked at all times. Also pay attention to what is happening on your property and those of your neighbors. If you notice anything out of the ordinary, call 911 or the non-emergency number for the police: 252-1110.
SAFE DRIVING
Drive very carefully and slowly to avoid accidents and keep our streets walk-able and safe for everyone – especially our elders, children and pets.
PARKING
Park off street if at all possible. If not, park neatly in front of only your own property and consider creating parking spaces as many have done by gravelling or paving parking pads in your yards. If you need additional temporary parking for visitors, be considerate and ask your neighbors before parking in front of their properties. If you observe a vehicle parked so that it impedes traffic flow, call 252-1110 and local police will arrive to take care of the problem.
NOISE DISTURBANCES
City ordinances prohibit the creation of noises that are disturbing to neighbors, including barking dogs, loud music, etc. If you are disturbed by such noises, report them to the non-emergency number for our local police - 252-1110.
TRASH BINS
Store trash bins away from the front yard. In accordance with City guidelines, bring them out close to pickup time and return them to storage ASAP after. If you know a neighbor has trouble moving bins, offer to help bring them out and put them away for them. If terrain absolutely requires bins to remain in the front yard, provide camouflage by landscaping with fencing and/or bushes and flowers.
DEBRIS STORAGE AND DISPOSAL
Know and adhere to City Regulations regarding how to prepare leaves and garden debris for pickup and how to arrange for storage and disposal of construction materials and other household items. Please note the following:

DEBRIS STORAGE AND DISPOSAL
Know and adhere to City Regulations regarding how to prepare leaves and garden debris for pickup and how to arrange for storage and disposal of construction materials and other household items. Please note the following:
- Pod storage units are restricted to 28 days a year on a property unless a permit has been obtained.
- The City will tag for removal any vehicle parked on a property that is inoperable and/or not registered.
- Properties not in compliance with health and safety standards are subject to being fined by the City. Therefore all ‘junk’ and litter should be removed from yards and lawns need to be kept neatly mowed.
- Leaves must be bagged with bags left open in order for the City to pick them up. The burning of leaves and garden debris is a serious safety issue and is prohibited by the City, with heavy fines imposed on violators.
- No leaves, garden, construction or any other debris should be placed on the curb areas surrounding the golf course at any time.
